Hi! So last week was Pop Culture Pop-Up Volume 1 and I have to say, it was a hit! So we are going to make this weekly and I hope you will share what you are loving back with me. Wearing Doen above.
WATCHING:
Bonjour, Emily in Paris! This is back on Netflix and spoiler alert…I finished the new season and I want to book a one way trip to Rome! Seriously I called John and told him we should study abroad in Rome next fall. It’s a working concept. But this show is candy. It’s perfect. And it’s my fave thing to watch while I’m working out.
The Golden Bachelorette: HULU
I am obsessed. I was obsessed with The Golden Bachelor because it was a beautiful showcase of how women over 60 (the winner was 70!) cannot only still find love, but feel desire and reignite a part of their lives they thought was over. Name another Hollywood experiment that has such a positive message for women over 60. Reminder, The Golden Girls were in their early 50s! The Golden Bachelorette is interesting because she learned that lesson on the first season-that love after loss is possible. And she brings that energy to the show! I find the emotions the men are displaying to be really positive! Such a nice example of men showing their feelings, their love for their children and for their former spouses.
On that note, I SOBBED through the back stories of anyone who lost their partner omg. Looking forward to this season!
Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story: (Netflix)I did two episodes and it’s all too dark. The whole story is messed up. Not sure why we need to dive into these stories. Idk! But the music is good. And so is the styling.
Still watching: Grande Maison Tokyo on Netflix and How to Die Alone on Hulu.
READING (WITH MY EARS!)
Just started listened to Sleep Tight by JH Markert. This is for the Megababe book club! I’m hoping it draws me in soon!
Gabby Bernstein’s new book SELF HELP just arrived on my door and I can’t wait to start. Gabby’s books have helped me through a lot of things and have really helped guide me. I can’t wait to read this!
Finished: Katie Couric’s autobio! As mentioned last week. It’s a good one!
WORKING ON…
I set a screen time limit on my Instagram to start pinging me every 5 min I’m on the app, over one hour a day. So it dings a lot lol. Since then my time on the app has gone down from 2:30 to 1:45 a day! It’s been really helping me be mindful of when im just scrolling out of habit. Has anyone else tried this?
ON MY BOD…
The dress above makes me feel like it is fall, and I am here for it. Styled here with this cardigan and these super comfy flats. Can see myself wearing it with boots too.
REPORTING BACK
On the Apple Cake from last week. It was pretty good! Who wants the full recipe?
NEXT UP.
Drop your questions for Mr. Sturino in the Lobby Coffee chat- AMA coming soon.
That’s it for now!
xo
Katie
I finished Monster. Then did a bunch of reading about their possible resentencing. I listened to Rosie O’Donnell’s podcast. A back episode with Lyle. Given the new info and that interview I think a resentencing is in order. Anyone else?
Yes on the social media timers! I spend way too much time on instagram when I work from home. I'm glad it's helping you - I don't look at my week over week but maybe I will.
