Dry January. What sicko decided that in the middle of a dark, post holiday haze filled with weight loss propaganda and family dynamics that people should stop drinking? January of all months just seems like a choice, ha!
But here's something I've never really written in black in white: Dry January and its associated messaging isn't a problem for me because I do not drink alcohol. Why? I am actually allergic to alcohol. When I was experimenting with alcohol as a teen, I had terrible/abnormal reactions. Meaning I went through college sober...and my wild 20s in NYC sober...and to this day, I still don't drink. Think about that lol.
It was only when I got divorced at age 35 that I started to explore marijuana and when it became legalized in NY, I was overjoyed. I love low dose gummies, I love deliciously dosed chocolates and treats but my new favorite thing is Happi, a low-dose THC drink. But Katie, marijuana isn't even legal in my state and I cannot buy this wonderful drink! Guess what? Thanks to the Farm Bill of 2018, hemp derived beverages are legal in all 50 states and you can buy them at a liquor store.
Personally, I am so over the stigma of marijuana. No one is side-eyeing people when they crack open a beer or pour a glass of wine. In fact, it's expected! I think the social pressure to drink is enormous and one thing I love about Happi is that you can bring a case to a party (for yourself or to share) and you can have the experience of sipping something with the benefit of a light buzz…WITHOUT THE ALCOHOL or the hangover!
I love the Lime Wild Mint and the Raspberry Honeysuckle. Now, for those of you new to the THC experience, I would start with the 2.5 THC level drink Lemon Elderflower. Most flavors come in a 5mg version but if you’re a pro, indulge in the Glow Blood Orange Ginger version called Glow Up, which has 10mg THC plus good for you ingredients like lion's mane and CBD. All of Happi's flavors are actually all-natural, low in calories and the small can size makes them perfect for a little treat. John and I love to do a Friday night cocktail hour in a fancy glass. It makes us feel cute:)
Happi is a female founded company so you can feel good about supporting a woman owned brand while trying a new beverage! I have a special code for you: KATIEXHAPPI and I truly encourage you to try it if you are looking for something new.You can also find a list of liquor stores that sell Happi here. Thank you to Happi for sponsoring this post, shop the full line here, and for making January (and all the other months) have a little more sparkle!
