I just got back from a truly magnificent trip to Paris and Morocco with John, my mom and aunt. More on the full itinerary soon, but I had to jump right back in and share some style musings from the trip.
The internet has enough lists of "cool ways French girls dress" and practically every e-comm site has a section that looks like it was merchandised by Emily herself.
But my takeaways from my trip were far more simple: French people just seem comfortable in the way they dress. Here's what I saw, with size inclusive options, of course.
SO MANY JACKETS TO THE ANKLE!
The longer, the better! Women, men and even teens were sporting timeless long coats. They are chic year over year and you can layer under them. Especially love a black or navy.
BOOTS ON BOOTS
Sure if I looked hard enough I could spot some designer footwear, but I swear Blundstone Boots were everywhere! If you're walking for a long time as you do in Paris, you need to have the appropriate footwear, and these fit the bill
BAGS WITH NO LABELS
Yep, chic caryalls with not a label in sight. I felt like all my clothes and bags were so loud, and was inspired to go a bit more minimal when shopping for my next bag!
PLENTY OF RED LIPS
Ok so this cliché is true. I have to say I want to try Violette's version so badly!
SCARVES ON THE REG
You just gotta bundle up whether it is in a bright color or muted tone. Obviously if you know me, I always go for the maximalist version. Sorry, I gotta do me!
Au revoir for now, and back Friday with something VERY special for you all.

Can cosign on the Violette lipstick. It's so good. If you want like a really bold lipstick its not for you but if you want something a little more makeupy than a tinted balm, this is it (and you can layer more on to get more of a lip). It's a great low maintenance product!
Thank you for the realistic and recent take on the fashion and multiple sources to recreate as I feel like Jan and Feb is a style rut for me before Spring!
