Why the F do we make so many deodorants?
Plus the Rosy Pits origin story.
Consider this a birth announcement! This month we added three new deodorants to the Megababe family: The Coco Deo, The Santal Deo and The Peachy Deo.
You are probably like, girl, why do you make 492920 deodorants? Well, let me tell you…it is because everyone’s body chemistry is so different!! If you don’t have a key ingredient like aluminum (bad!!) that stops you from sweating, you need to try other combinations of ingredients to find something that stops you from smelling like a garbage truck. I found this out with my co-founders, my sister Jenny and my BFF from camp, Kate. We all have such different body chem and we all needed different formulas.
Let me rewind, since we started Megababe back in 2017 it has been our goal to create cute, clean and effective products that tackle taboos. Our first products were Thigh Rescue and Bust Dust, but Rosy Pits came soon after and was also deeply personal to me.
My mom is a two-time breast cancer survivor, and I just am not willing to take a chance on aluminum. So we made Rosy Pits and have not looked back.
When Rosy Pits hit shelves in 2018, natural deodorant wasn’t really a conversation like it is today. But the product was a hit and had an 8,000+ person waitlist just right after launching. We were in awe! I think it was the combination of how effective it is, a great scent, and good branding, which felt novel at the time…and just so happened to be clean.
This was my first post about it on IG. Cute!
But after my sister had a baby, her body chem changed and we started to look at different formulas. We made the Smoothie formula and Geo and Green Deo and this is what the base of our new deos is. We also launched Cream Deo a few years ago which is a sleepy hit that I always forget about but people who love it, love it.

We’re using skincare grade ingredients for your pits too, and encourage embracing the detox period when you switch over with our masks and bars. It’s not that big of a deal to do the detox period so don’t be scared. Just carry your deo with you for a week if you need to reapply. NBD.
So why did we make Santal, Coco and Peachy? Santal is such a cult fave and it smells like rich, hip people. Coco is just a classic and we felt we wanted to do one our way. And Peach is TRENDING!!! I am so proud to have hit the beauty trend cycle right on time and with a product that doesn’t smell like a bad candle. These fall into the same base formula as our best-selling Smoothie Deo, so if that’s the formula that works for you, you’ll love these! We’re really excited to bring MORE optionality to the market (now we have 13 different deodorants) to give people MORE solutions.
It makes me so proud to see them all on the shelf together. And they are restocking soon on our site, and are available on Ulta right now.

I am putting this here for those asking:
Smoothie, Santal, Coco, Peach, Green and Glow deo are all the same formula.
Rosy, Beachy, Sunny and Soapy are all the same formula.
Geo Deo is the only one of our deos that has baking soda so if you are sensitive to that, dont use Geo.
Cream Deo is our only cream formula!
I love the beach pits but the smoothie wasn’t for me due to the white residue it left. Curious to smell the new scents tho. Might just convince me to try that formula again!
